Two more challenges

I am so excited to show you this card I made!  I love it:)  It looks pretty simple, but wait until you see the supply list!

It started out a little different, I just kept changing it. ( I thought it was too plain and simple)

The first challenge is,  Always Playing with Paper, Merry Monday Challenge #4.  The second challenge is, The Paper Players, Tag it! Challenge #79. I hope you will hop over and take a look at all the wonderful cards:)

What do you think?  I have a “thing” for white backgrounds.  I almost always make my card and then mount it on white cardstock.

I used plain cardstock for the bird stamp and “water colored” it with my aqua brush.  I did have to reinforce it with another piece of cardstock, because when you use water on cardstock it tends to warp.  I used very little water.  I used my stamp pads and kinda squished them together to get ink on the inside of the cover.  Then I just dipped my brush in it:)  I like the total effect.

For the bird, (Beautiful Season) I inked up my rubber stamp with VersaMark and then Basic Black.  That way I could emboss with clear powder.

Let me know if you have more questions:)

All products used are Stampin’ Up! unless noted.

Two new challenges

Ok, it’s been a few days and I have been busy with my grandson, and working on one card for two different challenges.

The first is the Saturday Sketch Challenge 238 over at Stamping 411.  The second challenge is over at The Paper Players Color Challenge #78.  I’m not sure yet how to upload their images for the challenges, so head over there and check it out for yourself.  You will also be able to see what others have submitted:)

Wow, I didn’t think it would be THAT big. lol  I wanted you to be able to see the flowers and leaves.  I used a Hostess stamp set from the big catalog, Simply Soft.  It has a two-step stamp.  First I inked the leaves with my Pear Pizzazz marker, the I outlined the stamp with Blushing Bride marker, finally I added the Calypso Coral for the stamens.   I then “huffed” on the entire stamp and put it to paper.  I then stamped the matching stamp, which is the flower centers with Blushing Bride.  Finally, I used my Aqua Painter brush to fill in the leaves and stems a little.  I used the brush with my markers and gently brushed.

After all that, the rest of the card was a cinch;)

All items used are Stampin’ Up!

Stamps-Hostess, Simply Soft

Cardstock, Markers- Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz

Misc- Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon 1/8

The Paper Players Theme Challenge

Wow, I found another Challenge to have fun with:)  This is a Challenge for The Paper Players.  The theme is “All You Need is LOVE”.  The card I’ve made may look simple, but there were a lot of steps and it was a challenge for me;)

I heat embossed the “With Love” and the heart image.  I stamped them in Basic Black and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  The Black heart I cut by hand, it was horrible!  I had to cut it 3 or 4 times.  I am no good at hand cutting:(  I also had to stamp and emboss several times to get the images just the way I wanted them.  I’m pleased with the final result, I hope you like it too:)

All products used are Stampin’ Up! unless noted.

Stamps-Punch Potpourri, Hand-Penned Holidays

Paper-Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White

Inks-Basic Black    I actually used the Classic pad.  You have to have your powder open and put it on RIGHT away, before the ink dries!

Misc-Framed Tulips embossing folder,  Heart Punch, Ribbon Originals Mistletoe, Clear embossing powder

I had some sad news in regard to a friend from church:(  I made this card for my friend’s wife.  Now that it’s made, I’m not sure I like the color.  It seems too “dark”.  I may try again with a different color scheme.

I don’t have as much time for crafting as I would like.  I spend most of my day taking care of my youngest grandchild.  So when I make a card, I try to get it right the first time;)

Here are the supplies I have used.  Everything is Stampin’ Up! unless noted.

STAMPS -Bella Toile, Four Frames, Teeny Tiny Wishes

PAPER-Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso

Ink-Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso

Misc-Chantilly Crochet Trim, Eyelet Border Punch, Decorative Label Punch

3 colored gems from Misc store

My favorite stamp set!

I have to admit, this is my favorite stamp set.  I chose this card for my first, because I love blue!  My daughter said there is just too much going on with this card, but I love it!

I promise to get better with my descriptions, but here is what I used. All Items are by Stampin’ Up! unless noted.

Nature Walk stamp set (my favorite)

Perfect Punches stamp set

Pacific Point Card stock and ink

Early Espresso Card stock and ink

Wild Wasabi Card stock and ink

Scallop Oval punch

Framed Tulips Embossing Folder

I tend to cut my shapes by the way they look rather than by measurements.  I know I am so bad! lol

The new occasions mini catalog is out today!  Please take a look.  I have a link on the right side.  Enjoy! 🙂
