This card is all Stampin’ Up!. It’s for my Father-In-Law’s birthday in May. I know, I get behind so quickly that I really need to make cards whenever I can;) I actually bought this stamp set last year and never got to making the card for him:( As I said, I get behind very quickly. Friday Mashup had a wonderful sketch that I thought would work well with my idea. Here is their sketch for this week. You can follow the sketch, use the Mother of Pearl technique, or “Mash it up” and use both.
Here is my card:
I tried putting some clouds in my Not Quite Navy “sky” with Whisper White Craft ink and a sponge. Not too sure how this has worked out. I think I need to find some instructions somewhere. lol I used a cut off piece off white to use the decorative strip with an Antique Brad. I don’t think men really care for ribbons. lol The printed paper was printed on my home printer. It’s digital paper from Stampin’ Up’ called Well Worn. One of my favorite “male” papers.
I hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping by today:) I actually made two cards with this sketch. The second card can be found on my “other” blog. I hope you can come by again soon:)

On June 1, 2012, Stampin’ Up! will release a new annual catalog, and the current Idea Book & Catalog (our BIG catalog) will end a month early on May 31, 2012, instead of June 30, 2012. The new annual catalog will run from June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013.
There will be 2 seasonal mini catalogs–holiday and spring–that will run about five months, instead of the 3 that we currently have. The Idea Book & Catalog will be smaller and the 2 seasonal mini catalogs will be larger.
The Décor Elements and Simply Adorned product lines will be discontinued at the end of this catalog on May 31, 2012, so get them while they last!
Our biggest promotion of the year, Sale-a-bration, is under way! Don’t miss out on your chance to earn FREE stamps, paper, and accessories! It will only be around until the 31st!
Dates: January 24- March 31, 2012
Contact me for details:) It’s always a pleasure to answer questions:)
I don’t remember actually doing this kind of card before, I hope I am doing it right. I was just wandering around and happened upon this challenge. It looked really cool so I decided to give it a try:) I was over at “Less is More” a clean & simple challenge blog. This weeks challenge was not the usual (for me) sketch challenge. This challenge is for a Clean & Simple card with Script. For a card with “less” it sure took me a long time! lol
Here is my card:
I used a retired stamp set from Stampin’ Up!, Garden Collage. It’s sooo pretty! For the background, I used Stampin’ Up! block “D”. I inked it up with Crumb Cake and just stamped it directly onto the cardstock. Then I used the rubber stamp, it actually has all of the elements on a single stamp. Then I used Stampin’ Up! sponges to dab color onto the image. I hope you like it:)
All supplies are Stampin’ Up!
Stamps-Garden Collage (retired), Warm Words
Ink-Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Perfect Plum, Marina Mist
Misc– Stamping Block “D”, Sponges
