Friday Mashup #77

Another card for the Friday Mashup this one is #77.  I’ve enjoyed being a guest designer this month:)  This card was not simple to make.  Well, it wasn’t hard, just very time consuming!  Here’s the info for this weeks challenge:

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:

  1. Make a “Indian Summer” themed project.
  2. Or Make a project with any three colors from “Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade & Early Espresso”.
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a “Indian Summer Themed project with the color combo”.

Too bad for me, the info I received as a guest designer didn’t include the “any three colors” part.  I used all the colors listed!  Also used the theme:)  Here is my card and then I’ll tell you about it.  You can click on it to make it larger:

For those of you who follow me, you will be shocked again!  Not only did I color my apple image, I hand sponged all of my plaid!  Yes, I did!  I even took photos to show you!  Sadly, someone else downloaded my camera and my “how to” photos got lost:(  But, I will tell you what I did.

I took some Very Vanilla paper from Stampin’ Up! and used my ink pads and sponges to make “lines”.  I started on the right side, I used blue painters tape and pieces of card stock to block off an area to sponge.  I worked my way across to the left using light sponging or more aggressive sponging.  You can see some lines are darker than others, I just sponged on more color.

I used Stampin’ Up! ink pads by just inking up my sponge.  Starting on the right, I used More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, More Mustard.  My Early Espresso looks black, but it’s actually a very dark brown.  I used Early Espresso to make my lines.

I used Lucky Limeade behind the apple and for the cellophane covering the apple.  I used Raspberry Ripple for the far back, background paper, and for the apple. For the stick I used More Mustard, very lightly.  For the whole apple image, I used my Aqua Painter and just stamped some ink onto my glass worktop, then picked it up with my Aqua Painter.

I have to repeat, it was not hard, just time consuming!  When I have more free time, I think I will try some other plaid designs.  I love how it came out! 🙂

I’m sorry, I don’t remember where I bought my apple rubber stamp, I bought it a number of years ago:(  If anyone has this stamp (it came unmounted with two other stamps as a set) and can supply the store info, I would appreciate it if you would share the info:)

The leaf gems I bought at Michaels about a year ago, but I saw some recently in the $1.50 bins.

If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer if I can:)

Thanks for stopping by today:)  Be sure to check out the Friday Mashup to see what everyone else has done:)

Changes to Stampin’ Up! Catalog

On June 1, 2012, Stampin’ Up! will release a new annual catalog, and the current Idea Book & Catalog (our BIG catalog) will end a month early on May 31, 2012, instead of June 30, 2012.  The new annual catalog will run from June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013.

There will be 2 seasonal mini catalogs–holiday and spring–that will run about five months, instead of the 3 that we currently have. The Idea Book & Catalog will be smaller and the 2 seasonal mini catalogs will be larger.

The Décor Elements and Simply Adorned product lines will be discontinued at the end of this catalog on May 31, 2012, so get them while they last!

PROMOTIONS

Our biggest promotion of the year, Sale-a-bration, is under way! Don’t miss out on your chance to earn FREE stamps, paper, and accessories! It will only be around until the 31st!

My favorite stamp set!

I have to admit, this is my favorite stamp set.  I chose this card for my first, because I love blue!  My daughter said there is just too much going on with this card, but I love it!

I promise to get better with my descriptions, but here is what I used. All Items are by Stampin’ Up! unless noted.

Nature Walk stamp set (my favorite)

Perfect Punches stamp set

Pacific Point Card stock and ink

Early Espresso Card stock and ink

Wild Wasabi Card stock and ink

Scallop Oval punch

Framed Tulips Embossing Folder

White Card stock

I tend to cut my shapes by the way they look rather than by measurements.  I know I am so bad! lol

The new occasions mini catalog is out today!  Please take a look.  I have a link on the right side.  Enjoy! 🙂
