Stamping 411 #268

I’m still struggling with all the chaos in my house:(  I did have time to make a card for the Saturday Sketch Challenge over at Stamping 411:)

Here’s their sketch:

I like to stay pretty close to the sketches.  I’m a clean and simple (CAS)  kind of girl;)  Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Wow, I love that glimmer paper!  Did I use the scrap left over when I cut a shape?  Yep, I did;)  I’ve never done this before, but I think I like it:)  I think it gives the card a very dramatic look.

I used all Stampin’ Up! products that will be in my supply list below.  For the main image, I did use the left over from a cut out shape.  I used the Framelits-Labels Collection (125598).  I used regular tape to make them stay together, and then glued them on  a scrap piece of cardstock with Tombow glue.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

The image is from the Beautiful Season stamp set (122682), I used the cling set.  For the sentiment, I also used the Beautiful Season set, I just used part of one of the sentiment stamps. The whole sentiment reads “May your season be blessed with all things bright & beautiful”.  Obviously to large to fit my banner;)

If you’re following me, thank you!  I know I haven’t been very good at keeping up my blog:(  I will try harder:)

Thank you all for coming by!  I hope to see you again soon!

All Supplies are Stamin’ Up!

Stamping 411 #251

I found some time today to do an extra challenge:) !  This one I found over at Stamping 411.  Here is their sketch:

Here is my card:

I colored about 5 of these images before I liked one.  Yes, 5!  I am so picky, and not very good at coloring:(  I decided to use my  In Colors.  I don’t use them as often as I would like.  I’m kind of stuck on Garden Green and Real Red.   Hmmmm, that might be because I work on a Christmas card every week. lol

Anyway…..I used Stampin’ Up! Rainy Days, it’s a retired set from 1999, but I love it!  I didn’t like the coat, and I had already colored it 5 times, so I colored just the coat and popped it up with dimensionals.  Such a cute image!

I also used a retired set for my “giggle”, it’s from Warm Words, 2006.  I cut the stems off the brad and popped it on with half a dimensional.  I hope you like it:)

Thanks for stopping by today:)  I will be making another Christmas card on Monday, hope you can stop by and see it later in the week:)

Stamping 411 #243

Oh, dear, yes I missed a challenge:(  Oh, well, another day, another challenge:)  Here is the sketch for the challenge over at Stamping 411 this week:

Here is my card:

I know, it looks simple enough, actually it was simple, just lots of different steps.  It looks like the main image is inked, but I used VersaMark.  VersaMark is a clear sticky ink that you can use for heat embossing.  For this technique, I simply inked my stamp with the VersaMark pad and put it straight on my paper.  It leaves kind of a shadow.  It looks different on different papers.  Here it stands out quite a bit, but on paler colors, it’s more faint.

I used my Framed Tulips embossing folder for the bottom. I cut off a piece and then I used my Whisper white craft ink to sponge just the embossed portion. I used my butterfly punch to cut my butterfly and then used a technique I saw in the July 2011 Stampin’ Success magazine.

As always, if you have questions, feel free to ask:)  Here is my supply list:

All Stampin’ Up! supplies:)

Stamps-Inspired by Nature, French Foliage (left butterfly wing), Just Believe (right butterfly wing)

Paper-Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Shimmery White (butterfly)

Ink– Whister White Craft Ink, Coral Calypso, VersaMark

Misc– Framed Tulips embossing folder, Basic Pearls, Coral Calypso Ribbon,(free from the Sale a bration flyer) Butterfly Punch, Stamp -a ma- jig (to position the big flower image)

Thanks for stopping by:)  I hope you enjoy my card:)  Be sure to check out the other cards over at Stamping 411.

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #241

Hi card makers, or card lookers:)  I am loving all these challenges, they are really getting me to finish my cards, not just start them. lol  This card is for one of my family members, February is a big month;)  I am loving the “feel” of this card.  I don’t think I would have ever chosen this design, but now I love it!

The sketch is over at Stamping 411.  Be sure to go over there and get some great ideas! Just click the Stamping 411 words.  Also, whenever I post a card, you can click on it and get a larger view.

River Rock has never really been one of my favorite colors in Stampin’ Up! paper.  I think it has a yellow tinge to it.  The DSP paper is Well Worn, it shows River Rock as one of the coordinating paper colors.  I tried it out, and I think it works perfectly:)   I actually used my printer to print the Well Worn paper.  It’s a digital paper pack that you can get from Stampin’ Up!.

I am always happy to answer questions regarding my cards or Stampin’ Up! products.  There is a link on the sidebar to order from my website.

Here is the sketch:

Here is the card I made from the sketch:

Now here is my supply list, all Stampin’ Up! products:)

Stamps-Sail Away, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper-River Rock, Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, and Designer Series Paper- Well Worn.  The DSP is actually digital paper you can buy and download from Stampin’ Up!, then just print out on your own printer

Ink Early Espresso

Misc- Antique Brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch

Glad you could come by:)

Stamping 411 Challenge SSC240

I’m really having fun with these challenges, although sometimes, they are really challenging! lol   I tried this card with several different papers and colors.  Finally decided on this design.  I’m shipping this one off  for one of the many Birthdays coming up this month in my family.  February and August are very big months for Birthdays!

I will be posting this over at Stamping 411, be sure to head over there and take a peek at what everyone else is posting:)

Lots of gluing with this card.  I used to use a lot of double sided tape, but now I use lots of  Multipurpose Liquid Glue, in the green and white bottle.  You just need a little bit to go a long way.  It’s really strong, and it doesn’t seep through your paper!  I basically cut and pasted this one.  I used In Colors.

My supply list is all Stampin’ Up!

Stamps-You Are Loved(retired)

Paper-DSP Everyday Enchantment (free with a $50 purchase from the Sale-a-bration catalog) IN COLORS- Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral

Ink- actually I used markers for stamping today- Calypso Coral, Pool Party

Misc-Curly Label Punch, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Stampin Dimensionals, Jewels basic Rhinestones, Bakers Twine Lucky Limeade

I always appreciate you coming by for a look and comments are really special to me:)

Two new challenges

Ok, it’s been a few days and I have been busy with my grandson, and working on one card for two different challenges.

The first is the Saturday Sketch Challenge 238 over at Stamping 411.  The second challenge is over at The Paper Players Color Challenge #78.  I’m not sure yet how to upload their images for the challenges, so head over there and check it out for yourself.  You will also be able to see what others have submitted:)

Wow, I didn’t think it would be THAT big. lol  I wanted you to be able to see the flowers and leaves.  I used a Hostess stamp set from the big catalog, Simply Soft.  It has a two-step stamp.  First I inked the leaves with my Pear Pizzazz marker, the I outlined the stamp with Blushing Bride marker, finally I added the Calypso Coral for the stamens.   I then “huffed” on the entire stamp and put it to paper.  I then stamped the matching stamp, which is the flower centers with Blushing Bride.  Finally, I used my Aqua Painter brush to fill in the leaves and stems a little.  I used the brush with my markers and gently brushed.

After all that, the rest of the card was a cinch;)

All items used are Stampin’ Up!

Stamps-Hostess, Simply Soft

Cardstock, Markers- Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz

Misc- Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon 1/8

Thanks for stopping by:)
