SAS4Kids Challenge with guest cardmaker

I have a couple more cards to share from one of our SAS4Kids cardmakers:)  Once again, I will show you two cards from Nanci S. from Rotonda West, FL.  Nanci makes really wonderful cards! 🙂

IMG_4928aLook at this great card for a boy…..or a girl who likes hockey;)  I’m going to enter this card into the Challenge blog over at Send A Smile 4 Kids:) The current challenge is For The Boys, and Nanci’s card fits the bill:)  It’s also made with Stampin’ Up! papers:)  This is a wonderful card for a boy, great layout and coloring!  Sure to please any young person:)

aHalf-fold Card5How cute is this single stamp from Stampin’ Up!, Kind Koala?!  Super easy with the stamp , some Stampin’ Up! paper, and Stampin’ Write Markers!  This card would be good for a boy or a girl:)  I love how she used a marker to draw a border around the main image! 🙂

I’ve posted on my other blog today as well, so I think it’s off to bed for me!  It’s been a really long day!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the cards:)  Hope to see you soon! 🙂

Finally, a card! :)

OMGoodness, this was a terrible week to try and make cards!  The grandkids had two weeks off school for the Christmas holiday and went to school for one day, and then they have been off for 3 days because the temp is below Zero! My little darlings love to help! lol  I’ll have some photos at the end:)

For this card, I will be sending to challenge #22 over at Always Playing With Paper. After that it will go into the pile of cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids.

All the supplies in this card are Stampin’ Up! unless noted. I’ll post all the supplies at the end, but ask if you have questions:) Here’s the sketch I used. Obviously, I didn’t use the color challenge;)

Challenge 22

Half-fold Card1

What do you think, will this be cute for a little girl?  I like to stick pretty close to the sketch samples.  Especially now, I haven’t made any “real” cards for over a year:( I’m almost frozen looking at all my papers and supplies.  I worked on this card for three days!  Ok, all the grandkids were here running around, but seriously, it feels like with the new year, everyone’s style changed, except mine:(

I did use a newer punch from Stampin’ Up! called Hearts Border Punch.  It made the four little hearts on top of the image.  I actually punched four hearts and three of them show the background.  The fourth heart, on the far left, I cut out of the paper and taped it to the hole so they would all be the same color.  For the hearts on the right, I used a small heart punch for the biggest heart and for the small hearts and the little dots, I used the Owl Builder Punch.

It never seems like a lot of supplies until you start writing it down!  I don’t like to retire my supplies, even though we’re supposed to.  You could use a current Stampin’ Up! image instead. I think the only thing on this card that is not Stampin’ Up! is the card base, it’s an extra heavy cardstock because I also send cards to Operation Write Home and the card bases need to be extra sturdy.

Ok, for those of you who have been asking, here are a couple of photos:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s Lawrence in his car, that his cousin made for him:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALawrence with Grandpa coloring on a really big piece of paper.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are three of my granddaughters.  Lawrence is on the right making funny faces!  This was the best out of about 8 or 9 that I took!  Trying to get four kids to smile and look at the camera, all at the same time is nearly impossible! lol

Thanks for coming by today to have a look:)  I hope to get back onto a schedule very soon. I hope you stop by again:)

Merry Monday #48

Hmmm, well, that took longer than expected:(  But here I am with another blog challenge card.  This card is for Merry Monday #48.  This week they have a color challenge:

MM48Here is my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card2I wasn’t sure I could pull off these colors, but I think it turned out okay:)  I used all Stampin’ Up! supplies.  I love the little Mitten Builder Punch!  I hope they continue it into the new catalog!  I saw a similar layout on Spitcoaststampers, I think.  I changed it up a little, but overall it’s pretty much the same.  I don’t remember whose design I CASED, but if you see this, please let me know:)

If you have questions about supplies or technique, please feel free to ask!

Thanks for coming back by! 🙂  I’m always happy to have visitors!  See you again:)

Friday Mashup #95

I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long:(  I wish I could say I was all moved in and done unpacking, but that’s not the case:(  Having an almost 2 year old toddler keeps me pretty busy most of the day!

Anyway…..I have a card for you today and another one will be posted tomorrow.  That’s the plan anyway;)

For today, I have a card for the Friday Mashup #95.   Hop over there and take a peek at the other cards posted:)

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:
  1. Make a project with the colors “Raspberry Ripple, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive“.
  2. Or Make a project “Creating your own Sentiment (No Stamps, Stickers, Chipboard etc.).
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a project “With your own Sentiment using the Colors above”

I like to make my own sentiments, but today I haven’t added one yet.  I’m not sure who will get it yet;)  So here is my card:

Half-fold Card1Looks pretty simple?  Well, it would have been if I didn’t make my own Daffodil dotted paper!  I’m still learning about My Digital Studio, so I opened Daffodil Delight in Print Shop.  I cropped a circle, made it small and duplicated it into a row.  Then I duped more rows until I felt I had enough for my project.  I think it adds a nice cheerful look:)

Thanks for coming by today, and for those of you who are following me, I really appreciate it!  See you soon:)

Merry Monday #43 (final challenge for 2012)

Wow, it’s hard to believe, Christmas is about a month away!!  I have been making my Christmas cards faithfully all year with Merry Monday, so I have a good supply of cards to mail:)  Here is their last sketch for this year:

Here is the card I made, you can click on it to make it larger:

Okay, I didn’t use circles, I hope squares are ok;)  I used a Lace’ template to cut my design.  Lace’ templates are no longer made:(  Lucky for me, I found a number of them before they were all gone:)  There are some new templates out there that you can use in a Sizzix or such, but I did mine the “old fashioned” way.  I cut by hand with a craft knife.

Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso for the very back, on top of that is Old Olive that I stamped with Pines & Poinsettias (retired), using VersaMark ink.  It makes a nice subtle imprint:)   I cut Very Vanilla with my SU Scallop Trim Border punch.  Then Real Red and finally paper from Berry Bouquet (retired) I believe you can still get it in digital form from Stampin’ Up!

I sponged Old Olive over the back of my paper before cutting with my die.  The sentiment is from Hand Penned Holidays which I embossed with SU silver embossing powder.  Finally I added a little gem from my stash. Not as hard as it sounds:) lol

Be sure to check out Merry Monday before they go on their “winter” break!

Thank for coming by today:)  Hmmmm, I’m not sure what I’ll be making next, I guess we will all be surprised:)

Merry Monday #40

It’s another Merry Monday! 🙂  This card is for Merry Monday # 40.  I had no idea when I started with this challenge last January, that I would still be making Christmas cards.  Here it is November and I have all my cards done, with extras 🙂 !

Here is the sketch for this week:

I know, it looks simple, but the simple ones are sometimes the hardest;)  Here is my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Wow, did I have a hard time taking a photo of this card!  I have to say the photo just doesn’t do it justice:(  This card is sparkly and bright!  I will add another photo at the end.  This card is all Stampin’ Up!

I used Basic Black for the back and added Silver Glimmer Paper on top of that.  The dots are a clear acetate with black dots from Specialty paper Night and Day (retired). I then layered some Whisper White Organza Ribbon and made a bow.  Lastly, I added my sentiment from The Sounding Joy.

I’ve made quite a few B&W cards this year.  I think they are so elegant, I hope you agree:)

Here’s another look:

I just can’t make my photos show how truly sparkly and beautiful this card really is:(

Head over to Merry Monday for this and other wonderful cards!   There’s still time to join the fun! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today, have a great weekend! 🙂

Merry Monday #39

Okay, Halloween supplies are safely put away and it’s on to more Christmas! 🙂   This card is for the challenge over at Always Playing With Paper, Merry Monday #39. I had lots of fun making this one:)  Here is this weeks sketch, in case you’d like to play along, or just go see what everyone else is doing:

Here is the card I made, you can click on it to make it larger:

I love this card!  Plaid, blue, snowmen, mittens….how could you go wrong?   I used Early Espresso backing cardstock and ink.  The plaid paper is digital Frostwood Lodge.  It’s from last Christmas but you can still get it through My Digital Studio.  Which is what I did, I love to resize my papers and once you use your supply, what else can you do;)  The mittens are also from last year, but they are so darn cute, I had to use them!

The red paper is Cherry Cobbler, and the blue is Marina Mist.  The green is Garden Green used with a Memory Box die. The stamp set is in the new 2012 Holiday Catalog, Winter Memories.  I used some Basic Pearls in the top left.  To me this is a perfect Midwest winter card:)  Just my opinion….but you might agree;)

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you enjoy my card:)  Pop on over to Merry Monday, they have lots of inspiration for you.  If you haven’t started on your cards yet, now is a perfect time to start! 🙂

Freshly Made #57

This card is for Freshly Made #57. I noticed that a lot of people made Christmas cards this week for the challenge, but I’m still in Halloween mode;)  I did use a Christmas stamp set though, more on that later.  Here is this weeks sketch:

Looks simple, but it’s seems to be the simple ones that give me so much trouble;)  Here is the card I finally made, you can click on it to make it larger:

Yep, I used the new Christmas stamp set, Scentsational Season by Stampin’ Up!.  I also used the matching Framelit Dies, Holiday Collection.  The whole set is really cute!  I don’t know why I picked it for a Halloween card, just popped into my head:)

The dotted paper is from the DSP set Frightful Sight. This is the regular paper which is retired, but I also have it in digital form from My Digital Studio, still available:)  The top paper looks orange, but it’s actually More Mustard.  The stamp pad I used is Lucky Limeade, as well as the ribbon, and one of the background layers.

The spider web is one of those scratch on things I found in my stash, as well as the skull.  I love how it all came together:)

Thanks for coming by today:) My next card should be a Christmas card.  See you soon!

Merry Monday #36

I’m back again with another Christmas card:)   Here is the sketch from Merry Monday this week:

This is the card I made, you can click on it to make it larger:

This is an awesome retired Stampin’ Up! set called A Cardinal Christmas.  I love this set, but I’m going to sell it to one of my customers, so they can enjoy it too:)  I also used Simple Snowflake and the snowflake punch (both retired).

The Cardinal set is actually still available in digital form from Stampin’ Up!  The Cardinal here is digital, I reversed it, printed it, cut it out, and then popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals 🙂 I used the actual rubber stamps for the Chocolate Chip sentiment and the Wild Wasabi leaves.  I used Chocolate Chip and Real Red  cardstock.  I also used Real Red for the snowflake and button.

I love how this came out!  I’m going to make a couple more cards before this stamp set goes off to it’s new home;)

Thanks for stopping by today:)
